Tony Conrad is co-founder and CEO of, a platform for representing personal identity online. He is also a Founding Venture Partner at True Ventures where he serves on the Board of Directors of Automattic (WordPress), Blue Bottle Coffee, appssavvy, Quarterly, KISSmetrics, Qualaroo and led True’s investment in MakerBot, ToyTalk, 9GAG and Betable.

Prior to, Tony co-founded Sphere (acquired by Aol in 2008) with Toni Schneider. Early in his career, Tony spent nine years abroad, working in India, France, and Indonesia with Groupe Danone, focusing on brand extension opportunities through mergers and acquisitions in Southeast Asia. He then joined VSP as a general partner where he led consumer-tech and marketing software and services investments in Oddpost (acquired by Yahoo!), Iconoculture (acquired by Corporate Executive Board), MusicNow (acquired by Circuit City), and Centive (acquired by Xactly). Tony also played an active role managing investments in Post Communications (NASDAQ: NTVS) and Stonyfield Farms (acquired by Groupe Danone).

Tony is also a T4O national co-chair of Technology for Obama.He has personally invested in August, Slack, Lowercase Capital, Ne Timeas (Flour + Water, Trick Dog, Salumeria, Central Kitchen), Samovar, and Saltwater.  He holds a BS in Telecommunications, with a minor in Business, from Indiana University. When he is not seeking out new opportunities for investment, you can find him communicating en français, traveling, or getting lucky with enviable good parking karma.

Christian Anderson is a General Partner at fascinated by the synergies of technology, investments and global society. Prior to BuildUP, she was vice president in investment banking. She has 9 years of Wall Street experience in primary market securities sales for private and public sector clients. Christian was responsible for overall client management, including structuring, due diligence, marketing and deal execution. Appointed by the City Administrator in 2011, Christian currently serves as an advisor to the City and County of San Francisco CCG, which has distributive funds of $800k annually to invest in social endeavors.
